About Pat Jones and Cherish Memory Bears

Cherish Memory Bears is a non-profit company; I donate all of the profits to Bloodwise to enable vital research and treatments into blood cancers. There are 137 types of blood cancers, and each one is unique. This is why the charity changed its name in September, having formerly been known as Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. The money from customers is paid into my company bank account before being immediately transferred to Bloodwise. Cherish Memory Bears had donated more than £35,000 since December 2014.

Assisting Multiple Charities

To assist charities other than Bloodwise, I make bears designed for different organisations. The charities buy a bear from me and then raffle them off to raise funds. I have previously made camouflaged bears for armed forces charities, while a number of bears have been made with a charity’s logo.

Inclusive Pricing

My customers are able to choose between small, medium and large bears and animals, priced between £15 – £35 respectively. This cost does not include postage and packaging as I will not know this till the order is completed. I send the bears in a secured, enclosed box which is wrapped in tissue and bubble wrap. If the client tells me they are being given as a present, I will enclose a florist’s ribbon too. Items will be sent using a courier service which provides insurance and requests that items are signed for upon delivery.

How Bears Are Personalised

It is important to me that your bear is made exactly how you want it to look even down to eye colour. I will contact you for some background on your items, so that I can make sure your bear is perfect for you so that you can enjoy and cherish all of the memories that your new bear will hold. Your bear will include all of the items that you wish to send me which are personal within themselves.

Your input on how you would like your bear to look is the most important aspect of making your cherish memory bear. Your special items hold all of those memories that will be recreated through the life of a new bear. Once your order is placed I will contact you for more information on the items you have sent and talk to you about how you would like these items to be used.

Most fabrics can be used, however some delicate items such as wool may need to be lined with plain white brand new poly cotton so that I can work with them. (This may occur additional cost). This can discussed before or after you have placed your order. Either by the contact number on the web page or I will contact you once your order is placed.

The only other items used to complete your bear is the stuffing and the eyes. Also a little red love heart that symbolises the charity that the money made from the bears is donated to.
